So you have just moved into a rental property? Maybe you’re a seasoned renter and are saving for something to call your own, maybe you’re building or renovating your home and need a place to stay for a period of time or maybe you own a property and have decided to rent it out. What ever your situation, renting is something most of us will experience at least once in our lives. It can be frustrating living in a space that you can’t make permanent changes to, especially if you're used to living in your own home, as a rental never fully feels like ‘your’ home. Unfortunately it’s inevitable that most rentals will come with some wear and tear which you may have to live with, but hold off on calling it a day and living with scratched floor boards, ugly marks on the walls and crappy curtains because these can all be fixed….how you say, I’ll tell you! Here are some simple ways you can inject your own style and taste in your home and best of all I’ll show you how you can achieve it for under $300!!

Renovating a property can be one of the hardest things you’ll ever do. On the top 5 most stressful things to do in life, it is definitely up there!! After completing a few renovations myself I can tell you that it can really make or break a person and that’s without even doing any physical work. Not only is it pain staking at times, especially if you’re doing the work yourself,  it’s can also be a huge financial pressure, especially if you blow your budget. Here are my top 5 tips to surviving a renovation no matter how big or small and things to consider that can make or break a project.

It's no secret that the weather in the southern hemisphere is getting colder by the day and winter is officially on its way.

As the winter season approaches a lot of people tend to go into hibernation mode, not wanting to do a lot but stay in doors, binge on Netflix and drink copious amounts of tea….or wine (what ever floats your boat 😆

But instead of laying low this season, why not update your interiors with the latest trends to create the perfect abode and enjoy the cooler months in style.

Knowing your style can be one of the hardest interior challenges out there. With so many online influences on social media it can be downright confusing trying to decide what your ‘actual’ style is and not someone else’s. I have been thinking a lot about the concept of knowing your ‘why’ and the importance this plays when deciding on your style. Many people ask me, “how do I know what my style is?”  Often people are drawn to a lot of different influences but not one specific style and so they get confused and think, ‘I must not have a set style’ – (don’t panic if this is you 😉)

If interior decorating and styling is new to you it’s not uncommon to feel completely overwhelmed. For many people the thought of colour schemes, deciding on a style , choosing furniture and accessories and then knowing what to do with it all is enough to leave some people rocking in the corner! But I’m here to tell you that it needn't make you break out in hives. Here are some easy tips and tricks that even the most novice decorator can follow and use to create a dream space.

How many times have you gone to look at a rental property and it looks more like a crack den than somewhere you would want to live.  Looking around all you see is stained carpet, walls that have been painted a hideous colour or worse are stained from years of smoke and the place smells like something died! Some rentals are in great shape but you still get the feeling that because you don't own it you can’t put your own spin on it. I’m here to call BS on this and show you in 5 ways how to make a rental property feel like the home of your dreams.
